Yenze Theatre Conservatoire (YTC), the producers of the acclaimed musical She Loves Me, are excited to present The Acting Arena — a bi-monthly drama competition designed to discover and nurture Uganda's next generation of performing arts talent.
The winner will receive one million Uganda Shillings, and the event connects emerging actors with influential producers, directors, and talent agents, serving as a launchpad for their careers.

RULES AND PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES:
1 - Eligibility
- Open to all actors in Uganda aged 16 to 60 Participants must register online, submit their scripts, and pay the non-refundable UGX 50,000 registration fee / application.
- Only paid applications will be allowed on stage.
- Past winners ARE NOT eligible.
2 - Performance Guidelines
- Each performance must align with the assigned theme or topic.
- Monologues must not exceed 5 minutes; scene performances must not exceed 10 minutes.
- Original works allowed. Script must be submitted.
- Adaptations are allowed, but proper credit must be given for non-original material.
- Explicit content, hate speech, or performances that demean any group are strictly prohibited.
- Every cast group must only have a maximum of four actors.
3 - Application Process
- Submit a complete application form with a synopsis, script of the performance piece and a technical rider.
- Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
- We reserve the right to decline your application after assessment
- Technical and Logistical Requirements
- Participants must communicate specific technical needs (e.g., props, lighting, sound) during application.
- Only essential technical requirements will be accommodated due to time and resource constraints.
4 - Event Conduct
- Contestants must arrive at least 2 hours before the event start time for check-in and briefing.
- Participants must respect time limits and adhere to stage protocols.
- Disruptive behavior toward staff, judges, or other contestants will result in disqualification.
5 - Judging and Appeals
- Judges' decisions are final and cannot be contested.
- Feedback will be provided to all participants upon request after the event.
